Trying to get back in the swing of things...
Once again, I just have not been in the mood for posting lately. We've been sick at our house (swine flu). Then we had the death and funeral of Ruthie last week.My mom is still not really doing well. She is being told by the doctors she needs heart bypass surgery NOW, but she wants to wait till after Christmas. Only thing is...she very well may not make it till after Christmas. My sisters and I, and our dad, have tried to talk her into it. She has dug her heels in. But Friday I went to their house after the funeral, and she kind of hinted that she might go ahead and schedule the surgery. Maybe.
Actually, it didn't take much. I asked her if she was going to schedule the surgery as soon as possible after the first of the year, and she said she was thinking right after Christmas. Daddy looked at me and said, "The doctors want her to do it now." I told him I knew that, and we kind of nodded knowingly at each other. So Mamma said, "Well, maybe I should go ahead."
Really? Was it really that easy?
I know she doesn't want to. I would not want to, either. But I would do it, if it meant my life. This is life or death. And I can't have my other knee replaced until after she is well enough that I won't be needing to go to the hospital every couple of days. If I have my surgery now, I will not be healed enough to help take care of her. And my knee is hurting me so bad all the time now.
Here is a really good video from CBS News...the heart-warming kind: Love is Blind
I shamelessly stole this from Mike...xThexGodfatherx. I thought it was so cute:
How many children can memorize a song like that? That's not an easy child's song. And how many kids even know that hymn now? I bet few do.
Brandon and Rachael are going to the air show this weekend, but the rest of us are not going this year. It's a lot of walking on a knee that needs to be replaced. And Beth is having a lot of pain in her repaired ankle right now. So we'll sit this one out. It is Saturday and Sunday. So here's pictures from last year's air show.
Then Saturday night, we have the Fall Fest at church. It's the alternative activity we have on Halloween. Our children (and even young adults) have fun getting together. But Beth stays out of the moonwalk these days. This will be 2 years since she injured her ankle.

Sorry to hear about your family's health. I hope everyone come through OK and enjoys a wonderful Christmas.
The video is so cute!
I am so glad your mom is considering getting the surgery done ASAP! I'm so sorry about your knee too. Enjoy the Fall Festival (I look forward to pictures). I remember when Bethany hurt her ankle in the Moonwalk..can't believe it was TWO years ago ????
:what: Blessings.
Hope you all start feeling better at your house....glad you liked the video, someone at Deb's work shared it with her and she passed it along to me....so keep it going!
Blessings to you!
Mike
RYC: I had put off going to the eye dr. also though I am glad that I did and that it went fine. He does want me to come back in for more testing though he says my eyes look healthy. I am liking my new glasses. Thanks for the compliment. Have a great evening. I am sorry to hear about your Mom. I will be praying. Take care. Blessings.

Thanks. Isn't that the cutest video? I listened to it twice, and each time I was trying to "help" the little boys get up to those notes

Hi, Jill...yes, 2 years! I just can't believe it. I'm not sure Mamma will actually go through with doing the surgery soon, but at least she's thinking about it. :heartbeat:

Thanks, Mike. That video is just so cute. I teach music to children at church, so I especially liked it.

It's been almost 2 years since I got new glasses. It's just a hassle to me. But my eyes have changed so much, I guess I should go ahead and do it.
Oh you poor thing Cindy....Just your mom alone, that is quite enough for you to have to deal with. It's so good that you have your dad with your mom, when my mom has had things in the past, it's only me. My dad lives three hours away and doesn't seem interested when she's had problems. I'm an only child, but maybe that is a blessing when I see how my husband's siblings behave at times. ; )
Thank God my mom is a healthy eater after seeing a nutritionist following a health crisis, and that saves us all a lot of heartache.
I'll pray for you Cindy, and especially this situation with your mom. Thanks for your sweet comment, so sweet of you. : ) I hope you are feeling better and are keeping a dance in your step. Love, ~Amelia
Someone in the music dept at the church where Debbie works showed it to her! We love to watch it and see different parts that are funny that you miss during the laughter!
That video is so sweet!!!
That is the sweetest little video! :heartbeat:
